Rylley's Birthday Cake

 Rylley's birthday was on Friday and his mum bought in a delicious chocolate and caramel cake, with toy diggers on it. We sang him Happy Birthday and he blew out his candles. Rylley handed out a piece of cake to all of the class and some of the teachers. We were very lucky!

Rm 12 Get New Zealand Writing

We got our return postcards from the "Shooting Stars" at Horotiu School in the Waikato on Friday! We were really excited to read the wonderful similes and metaphors from our buddy class.  The photo is what their postcard puzzle looks like. 

This week (Week 11) we are going to send room "Shooting Stars" a flipgrid saying thank you and give them a little bit more information about themselves. We also have our trip to the Art Gallery on Wednesday morning, the trip is $2 and can be paid to Penny in the office as late at Wednesday morning.  Any child remaining behind will work in Room 11 while we are away.

As part of our writing this term we have been working on learning similes and metaphors. We used what we learnt about similes to describe ourselves and write post cards to Horotiu School in the Waikato.

Chapter Chat Grand Finale!

After 6 weeks of reading The Terrible Two we have finished the book! The children loved listening to the story and completing their weekly tasks. We are looking forward to the next Chapter Chat in T2. 

This is us celebrating with a couple of 'Arnold Palmer's' (lemonade and peach iced tea drinks, which the characters had in the book) and some popcorn.
